Dust On The Altar

Don't you ever wish you could go back to those times? When you were a kid, or even when your parents were kids? Nobody had much to worry about. You could go to town without locking your front door, walk down the road without fear, & you sure didn't have alarm systems in churchs. It's a sad day when we have to lock up our Lord's house because of evil people.

God's house is a place you should be able to go to when you are hurt, lonely, or maybe you just want to thank God for what He has done. Of course you can do that wherever you are, however, there ain't nothing like an old altar. There should be tear stains & the carpet should be rubbed thin. Instead it looks like the rest of the church. There's "dust on the altar". I heard this song by the McKameys last night on my way home from church & it spoke a lot of truth.

Children are scattered all over the land
We’ve lost our love for our fellow man
Fathers and mothers are parted today
There’s dust on the altar where we used to pray

Chorus:
Let’s seek out the old paths and walk therein
Our children are crying and dying in sin
Satan is laughing as God’s people stray
There’s dust on the altar where we used to pray

Tears that were once shed for a brother in need
Are now called old fashioned, they’re no longer seen
Greed and proud hearts have gotten in the way
There’s dust on the altar where we used to pray

I think everyone should get back to the basics of life. Where tears are shed because God's people are broken hearted that their "fellow man" are dying & going to Hell. The world becoming so accepting of what God's word sees as an abomination. Pride gets in our way, that people want care. Who cares if they care? I don't. Yes, it took me a long time to get there, but once I did, I found that I got respected more for sticking up for what I believe in.

Some of you may not agree with me. But what can I do? Other than pray.

Now, I must go feed the dogs & start on some more cross-stitch bookmarks.
Good-day.

I don't want to go back to the "good old days"(I like my technology way too much), but I would like to see our churches turn back to the Lord. It's a sad day for our churches because of the way a lot of our "attenders" live their lives. But God's still working. And He's working in some young people a few counties over. I'm praying it spreads to us. Love ya.
